As a lifelong athlete and avid Blackhawks and Cubs fan, I am excited at the chance to help young athletes forward their careers at the collegiate level. Athletics have shaped me into the person I am today. As I played different sports throughout, I built confidence, which undoubtedly helped me as I lived in South Korea for two years as a teacher. In this foreign place, I was able to make a connection through my love for hockey, and I found myself playing pickup games with other expats and found commonality with other travelers. .
I also continued to develop leadership qualities that I now use to captain my men’s league hockey team. I still find myself using these skills when I travel and in my day-to-day routine.
